MONTHLY GUIDED TOURS
The tours last about 2 hours 30 min and cover the whole of the gardens, part of the mansion, the cellars and the stables.
Tours start from 10.15am. Cost £7.00.
Third Sunday every month except December when it is the second Sunday.

Tea, coffee and home-made cakes are available in the Racquets Court where there is also a shop selling books about Copped Hall and a variety of gift items. At certain times of the year, seasonal fruit and vegetables from our Walled Garden are available for sale.
There are permanent exhibitions on site.

Where possible, we are holding our prices for tours, lectures, education and entertainment to the 2008 level.
OPEN GARDEN "THROUGH THE SEASONS"
Sundays: 1 March, 5 April, 3 May, 7 June, 5 July, 2 August and 6 September 2009.
The gates are open between 2.00pm and 4.00pm only. Gardens will close at 5.00pm.
A new idea this year is to open the gardens in the afternoons, when people can wander around and talk to our gardeners. It was felt that these times may be more convenient.
There is no tour but a map with brief descriptions of the gardens is given out on arrival.
The mansion is not open on these days. The Racquets Court is open until 4.00pm for tea and coffee, home-made biscuits and cakes, and the shop is open at the same time.
OPEN DAYS
Sundays 24 May and 30 August 11.00am-4.00pm. Cost £3.50 gardens and £3.50 mansion (with room stewards).
There is access to the whole of the gardens, part of the mansion, the cellars and the stables. Tea, coffee, home-made biscuits, cakes and lunch are available, as well as alcoholic drinks. There are stalls selling produce. There is a shop in the Racquets Court and various exhibitions or quided tours.
COPPED HALL “APPLE DAY”
Sunday 11 October. Gates open 11.00am-4.00pm. Entry tickets £3.50. Entry to mansion £3.50 (with room stewards.
Apple Day is a national annual celebration of our apple orchards and local distinctiveness initiated by Common Ground in 1990. It is a way of celebrating the variety and richness of orchard fruits in linking particular apples with their place of origin and hopefully ensuring that they are not lost. Come and join in the fun, play some traditional games, help with the juicing and have your own apples identified by our expert. There will be a display of over 50 varieties, and you can taste before you buy some of the delicious different apples that will be on sale. There will also be refreshments, sales, cakes, lunches, bar, trees to buy, and more.

WALLED GARDEN PRODUCE
When visiting Copped Hall on Tour Days and Open Days, come to the Racquets Court to purchase our wonderful selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers cultivated by the dedicated team of volunteer gardeners working in the Walled Garden. Supplies of produce vary according to the season.
LECTURES
These are held at Theydon Bois Village Hall - 7.30pm for 8.00pm start.

Peter Lawrence is a well known lecturer on historical subjects - such as architecture and local history. His illustrated talk will cover the large number of country houses demolished in Essex over the years.

Alan Cox is the co-founder of the Copped Hall and its architect. He will give an illustratied overview of the achievements at Copped Hall during the last year - covering the mansion, gardens and events.

Jill Gillies "The Gardens of Easton Lodge"
These gardens are situated at Great Dunmow, Essex. The illustrated talk will explain the history of the mansions on the site and the well known Edwardian gardens. The occupancy by Countess Warwick - the mistress of Edward VII - will be explained, as well as the use by the USAF and RAF during the war and the recent restoration work and plans for the future.

DILYS BIDEWELL SUMMER DRAWING COURSE
Tuesdays 16 June, 23 June and 30 June, 9.30am to 5.00pm
Cost £30 per day which includes tea or coffee on arrival, a ploughman’s lunch and afternoon refreshments. You may attend any or all of the days. The course is limited to 10 people per session.
The historic architecture and gardens of Copped Hall (and the inside of the mansion if it rains!) offer a rich and varied range of subjects to anyone interested in drawing from observation. You can spend the day drawing just one flower or the whole mansion. The course will provide an opportunity to spend time in this inspiring location, while developing your drawing skills, at your own pace, with the one-to-one support of an experienced artist and tutor. There will also be a brief presentation of different aspectsof drawing at the start of each day.
All levels of experience are welcome, including beginners. The course places no restrictions on the choice of media used for drawing. Easels will be provided.
Dilys Bidewell is an artist and qualified teacher. Originally trained as an architect, Dilys has an MA in Fine Art and has taught as a regular visiting lecturer on the BA and MA Fine Art Painting Courses at Wimbledon College of Art since 1991. She has also conducted summer schools for Central St Martins at Byam Shaw School of Art.

FELICITAS - Chamber Choir

Originally formed to sing capella music from the 16th and 17th centuries, both sacred and secular, the choir has extended its repertoire to include accompanied and unaccompanied works from the late medieval period to the 20th century. Licensed bar available.

This Shakespearian play will be performed in the Copped Hall gardens. The highly respected and locally based Greek Theatre Players perform in traditional costume with traditional music. Refreshments available.
ERATO - Elizabethan Madrigals

A performance inside the museum of beautiful Elizabethan madrigals written in 1601 to celebrate the life of Queen Elizabeth I. The Erato Consort are experienced local singers. The performance is in the 450th anniversary year of the coronation of Elizabeth.

Price includes snacks and a licensed bar will be available. The Hugh Rainey Band is one of the best-known traditional jazz bands in southeast England. The performance will take place in the mansion cellars.

A celebration of the link between the people of Epping and Eppingen in association
with the Epping-Eppingen Town Twinning Association. There will be music by Epping

This will be the fifth year that this event has taken place in support of the Copped Hall Restoration Fund and local schools. The main event is over a multi-terrain course of 5 miles around the Copped Hall Estate. There are also schools’ runs of 1 mile for under 11s and 2 miles for under 13s. The event now attracts between 400 and 500 runners each year.
