Chauffeur's Uniform The chassis for this lovely car was ordered by Mr Wythes of 40 Berkeley Square, London W.1. from The London and Parisian Motor Co. on 10 July 1929 at a cost of £1,185. “Client providing own coachwork, instruction book handed to chauffeur.” Which neatly brings me to a request for the donation of … a chauffeur’s uniform! Preferably we should like one in a shade of dark green to match the paintwork, which we believe was the colour of the original suit. Barkers carried out the coachwork at a cost of £850. During 2009 we took the car to festivals in Epping, Matching Green, Hoddesdon, Loughton, Waltham Cross, Chingford, Nazeing and Woodford, where the car has been enthusiastically welcomed and proved to be a very successful advertisement for events at Copped Hall. Members of our team do try to dress the part, but a chauffeur’s uniform especially if it is of the period … Gordon Brown |
