Wish List

I can report that we have received funds for seven of the items on the spring newsletter Wish List. We are very grateful to the individuals involved. Mr and Mrs Hill have provided the funds for the two windows in the north of the wing at first-floor level. An anonymous funder has given £3,000 towards the structure of the dining room floor. The Roding Valley Rotary Club has given £1,000 towards the lift car restoration. We have received two donations, of £2,000 each, for stone steps for the principal staircase - from Jean Hemmings and Anita Farquharson. Peter Lawrence has given £500 towards the digital projector. Mr and Mrs Barnes have given funds to reassemble stonework at the end of the causeway and several people have given or offered money for the fig trees.

The total money actually received for items on the Wish List was £9,300. Almost all of these donations attract gift aid. In addition we have had promises to fund further steps for the stone staircase in the south stairwell. Dave Karaskas (Chairman of the Friends) has promised the funding for the more elaborate bottom step. Three other steps have promises of funding.
