Description

A different, lighter theme for this performance. After five different Dark Tales shows, we return with a different angle: expect less horror and more comedy as we lighten a gloomy November evening with amusing tales of life in former times. Amoungst the stories under consideration are Fanny Burney’s Evelina, the great William Hogarth, the Taj Mahal and its connection to Copped Hall, and miller’s wife Joan and her miraculous hen. We’re also likely to pay a visit to the Red Café in narby Woodford, courtesy of Sylvia Pankhurst. There will be another assembly of unusual and unexpected live sounds from the Copped Hall estate, and, of course, our resident wrangler of quarter-inch tape, will magic your own words into a completely new and unexpected soundscape, before your very ears! The Copped Hall Bar will be open and a roaring log fire will warm you in the ground floor Servants’ Hall.
