Description

History’s Greatest Love Story as told by History’s Greatest Writer.  The Greek Theatre Players are delighted to be invited back to Copped Hall at this historic and evocative venue, for their nineteenth performance. They will present Antony and Cleopatra, the last and most poetic of Shakespeare’s great tragedies; presented in their long-established, traditionally costumed style.  It picks up the story begun in Julius Caesar, with the Roman world ruled by a triumvirate consisting of Marc Antony, Octavius Caesar and Lepidus.  A clash of personalities and a clash of civilisations abolishes the Roman Republic, gives birth to an Empire and threatens to tear apart history's most famous lovers.

Early booking is recommended for this popular event.
