All Hallows’ Eve and another unsettling evening at Copped Hall!

An irrepressible tremor gradually pervaded my frame; and, at length, there sat upon my very heart an incubus of utterly causeless alarm. Shaking this off with a gasp and a struggle, I uplifted myself upon the pillows, and, peering earnestly within the intense darkness of the chamber, hearkened—I know not why, except that an instinctive spirit prompted me—to certain low and indefinite sounds which came, through the pauses of the storm, at long intervals, I knew not whence.

Our eighth evening of tales and sounds to chill your heart! We’ll have another classic ghost story from Sinister Masterplan (Laura Sampson, storyteller, and Sam Enthoven, Thereminist) and making her fifth appearance at the mansion will be storyteller Minnie Wilkinson, delving into the darker side of 18th Century life.

We’re promised another deeply disturbing performance by Poppy Liqueur and Raxil4.

And strange sounds indeed will be conjured, live, by Robin the Fog who will fill the State Hall with more of his extraordinary live tape-loops, involving your very own voices.

Event Details

Tickets are £22.00 per person. Gates will open at 6pm for a 7pm start, the evening concluding about 9pm. The event is unsuitable for children and therefore no children should not attend.

The Copped Hall Bar will be open, and a roaring log fire will warm you in the ground floor Servants’ Hall. And, new this time: pianist Ben Davis will tickle the ivories as you arrive!

Location & Accessibility

The event will occupy a variety of spaces in the Mansion. Main performances will be in the upstairs Saloon and there will be more presentations taking place in the State Hall and other rooms.

Currently, access to the first floor is only via stairs. Please contact the Box Office (details below) to discuss the accessibility of this event before you book.
