Archaeology

The Copped Hall Trust Archaeological Project started in 2001. It is a joint venture between the Copped Hall Trust and the West Essex Archaeological Group (WEAG). The Project has focussed upon the site of “Old Copped Hall”, which was demolished about 250 years ago. There are extensive archaeological remains. The site is interesting in its own right, but it has proved particularly suitable as a place for beginners to learn about archaeology and develop their archaeological skills, as well as being interesting for experienced archaeologists.

Here you can find out more about the Project, different ways in which you can get involved (which might only mean taking a look at it), and information about archaeological events at Copped Hall.
